Position: Professional Development Facilitator (hourly contract position)

The Professional Development Facilitator is an hourly contractor role that serves as part of PowerMyLearning's Professional Learning Team and reports to the Senior Manager, Program Development.

The Professional Development Facilitator delivers engaging and interactive educator workshops on a variety of best practices in teaching to schools across the country. Topics include: social emotional learning, culturally responsive education, family engagement, collaborative learning, student agency, and data-driven decision making.

  • Prepare for workshops by becoming a subject matter expert in each of our core workshop topics, refining workshop talking points, and practicing facilitation skills.
  • Deliver interactive workshops to teachers at our partner schools in Los Angeles and New York City, where we have regional offices, as well as other partner schools nationwide.
  • Review survey results from workshops to continuously strengthen facilitation.
  • Share feedback from the workshops to inform program development.
  • Communicate your availability and reliably attend scheduled commitments.



  • Passion for PowerMyLearning's mission and values
  • 2+ years of K-12 teaching experience
  • Engaging and dynamic presentation skills
  • High degree of comfort in facilitating meetings using Zoom or similar tool
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Proven organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently


  • Experience coaching and providing other professional development to teachers


  • Compensation to be earned at a rate of 50 dollars/hour for approximately 2-6 hours per week. This includes 1 hour of prep for each workshop and 1-1.5 hours for workshop delivery.
  • You can expect to facilitate between 1-3 workshops per week depending on your availability and our partner schools' needs.
  • You must have availability during one or more of the following times:
    • Mondays from 1-4pm ET/10am-1pm PT
    • Tuesdays from 4-7pm ET/1-4pm PT
  • You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary tools to provide remote workshops, including a quality computer with Microsoft Office Suite installed, stable Internet access supporting video delivery and appropriate video background.
